MY furst movie credit

October 1, 2006

Look at the bottom of the page. Under music, “Tried By 12”. Just did my furst soundtrak with Daniel may, how fuckin kewl is that!

My band, ‘Lonewolf and the Nash Cotton band’ in NY does the REAL version, Neil (‘Joe’ to me) wanted a Vegas/Broadway sound. My vocals didn’t cut it….

Next year His book, “Escape From Heaven” will be made into a movie. Joe is both a literary genius and a great movie maker. Hell, he’s my bro and I respect his work. I’ll be doin some of the soundtrak and acting hahahahaha. Hell I worked undercover for years, acting is a piece of cake.

Sheeit! I got $125.00 for 20 minutes of playing guitar. For Joe I woulda done it free, but i needed beer money!

It sux bein so f*%&(#g shy and people gettin me in demand. My producer/recording studio dude, Paul, is coaching me to leave the shell. It’s all about BEER… I go mainstream I can buy a brewery! so am I a sellout by doing this? Who knows.

I have seen enuff of the world and life to know I don’t like it. I’ll just record records and write and stay hid. But i did reach the goal of doing a song with a famous guy for a movie. 🙂

The start of country

September 7, 2006

I lost Cresta in 95. The band was doomed as I always featured a female vocalist. And if I have a female vocalist, She IS MY gurlfriend. Nobody taught me to be a player, so gurls is hard to get for me!

I was livin in a rat and cockroach infested place in deep despair. There wuz no lite at the end of the tunnel.

One nite I had a dream that I wuz playin guitar and singinhundreds of people in the audience, looked down and saw cowboy boots and a Texas buckle. And the crowd loved it.

I awoke in a sweat and wrote the lyrics down and the chords and got out my beat up old guitar. Dang, I played and sang them songs… I played ’em for a friend and she said I was awesome and could not believe it.

I recorded the 9 songs and released 500 tapes of ‘Bad Cat’. They sold out in a month. In 98 with JenniferLynn, I released bad cat with extra songs and her sweet babydoll voice. I sold 5,000 cd’s in 3 months.

I been Southern country and TexasPsychoBillyGrunge ever since.

My Band…

September 7, 2006

Well, I do a lot of shows all by my lonesome. But I gots a band in upstate NY. Now I know wut yer sayin…. They frum the north… Well, they Southern sympathisers and Rednecks and Rednecks with money.

Al (Ray ‘B’) is the drummer, he’s a cross between Lou Costello and John Belushi in looks and humor. He’s an awesome drummer.

Sarge is my protege rhythm guitarist. I swear I taugh him his open chords and 5th. and 6th. barr chord positions in a weekend and was jammin with him at night. He’s brilliant, or I’m a good teacher. he drives from Ohio on weekends in the kewlest Redneck race truck for band practice.
Marc (Space Cowboy) He plays Bass.. he’s way fuckin out there. Like real strange… But he’s good, so we don’t care cuz we all crazy.

Me- Jesse Lee Cantrell…  I’m the lead guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for the band. I’ve know Al and Mark since 88. met sarge a few years later. I’m the crazy dreamer one, the band guy who knows no limits. I’m also the only single guy in the band, and that really bites…..

My Music- part 1 ‘The Beginning’

May 12, 2006

This section is for me to talk about my music. In the CD section will be information about, well, my CD's. This will include pics (if i can get the pic thang to work), titles, genre, song list and maybe sample lyrics.

I have played many instruments most of my life, finally settling on guitar as my main focus. I started playing guitar and drums around 8 or 9. By 10, I was playing blues and rhythm and blues. I put the guitar aside to favor drums. I was a poor kid, and when I say poor, if you are not in my agegroup and know backwoods life, you have no idea what i am talking about. Poor means that if you want to play an instrument, you learn to make it or fix, repair, pirate parts and get it working. This gave me a great appreciation for my instruments. I have restored so many drums, guitars (both electric and accoustic) mandolins, violins, banjos, autoharps that i can build, fix, restore, rebuild, modify or customize any of these in my sleep. Poverty can be a blessing in disguise.

I learned a lot of traditional stuff, songs, techniques and stuff on all the above by my early teens. It was about then that I started writing my own stuff. I had a few guitars and would mess around and write my songs on them. But I stayed with drums, perhaps a bit too long.

I became in demand and played all over the country havin fun and living music. I stopped for a while in the early 80's doing little playing and then bounced back in the late 80's with a unique style. It was a kind of structured American form of Punk Rock. It was a heavy dark style, no real influences, just themes. Mostly dark stuff like death and vampires, kinda grade 'B' horror flic stuff. And people loved it.

That band was called 'The Undead', and lasted from 1989 to 1992. I chose to only re-release one CD, (it was tapes in those days). The reason I did this was because the band dissolved and we all went our seperate ways, and since all the stuff was from live shows, some of it was not releasable sound wise.

(to be continued)
